"The course was very good, I've learnt many things about building circuits/fault finding and reading/understanding schematics."
- Laurence W, Engineer"A very good course, aimed at the right level for the people attending. Very well taught by Jonathan, who's very helpful and knowledgeable."
- Lee T, Maintenance EngineerIt’s always a privilege to work with sharp minds who bring curiosity, focus, and a genuine hunger to learn. These two were no exception—talented, switched-on, and a pleasure to teach.
The facilities at MAKE UK continue to set the benchmark: clean, modern, and built for serious technical training. A perfect environment for hands-on learning in advanced manufacturing and automation.
It’s been a brilliant week delivering a range of safety courses for three outstanding training providers.
Monday & Tuesday: Power Press Regulations at Make UK.
Wednesday: Manual Handling for a machine tool business via Momentum Training.
Thursday: Abrasive Wheel training in Glasgow.
Friday: Travelled Bristol for another round of Abrasive Wheel training with MCP Training.
Grateful to work alongside passionate professionals and trusted organisations who prioritise safety and quality.
Massive shout out to a brilliant group of learners who took on two classic machining challenges:
Precision-turned plumb bob – mastering setup, tool control, and finish on the centre lathe.
Cube in a cube using the 4-jaw chuck – a proper test of patience, alignment, and creativity.
And just to raise the bar… we flashed the cube-in-cube up on the surface grinder for that crisp finish. Sharp minds, sharp edges!.
I started as an engineering apprentice—earning while learning, gaining qualifications, and building four years of hands-on experience with zero student debt.
That foundation opened doors to roles in toolmaking, CNC machining, maintenance, robotics, and eventually teaching. Engineering isn’t one lane—it’s a launchpad. You grow by solving real problems, not just passing exams.
Teaching has been a privilege. Helping others build confidence and skill is one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
In 2025, I took the leap and started my own training company. Strong technical skills made that leap possible—because business is about delivering value, and real skills are valuable.
From workshop floor to business owner, the journey has been shaped by learning, integrity, and the people who believed in me. Now I get to pass that forward.
I had the pleasure of delivering a 1-Day Industrial Electrical Taster Session for members of Pendeford Seventh-day Adventist Church.
During the session, the delegates learned:
Everyone did extremely well and successfully completed the hands-on task — wiring up a fully functional Direct-On-Line (DOL) motor control circuit.
It was great to see such enthusiasm and willingness to learn. A big thank you to all who took part!
